    how do you count cells with specific fill colors

    I'm trying to get cell D 242 to add up only yellow cells. I know nothing about VB so make it easy for me

    another option might be to have cell D 242 count C column using the same formula that the yellow conditional formatting uses in D column. I just can't seem to get the formula right.

    OK, I figured it out. I created a formula on another sheet to read as follows:

    =IF(AND((TODAY()-'Medal Tracker'!C3)>=1095,TRIM('Medal Tracker'!D3)="",NOT(TRIM('Medal Tracker'!C3)="")), 1, 0)

    then I did a sum in D242 of all the 1 results.
