Running Excel 2007. I've got columns where I denote sampling year, sampling site, and sampling season. I want to be able to merely type in, say, 1999 in the top field, and have every cell in that column display that value, referencing that first cell only. When I attempt to click on the fill handle and drag it to the entire column, it retardedly fills in a series - so instead of displaying the value in H9, it displays H9, then H10, then H11. I want to be able to add and delete rows if I wish, and if you interrupt the sequence they all zero out.

This is insanely basic, and it's a failure of the program to not make it more obvious. But there it is. I want to be able to do this:

C1 <---- cell H9
=H9
=H9
=H9
=H9
=H9
=H9
=H9
=H9

Without manually copying and pasting into each of my 200+ rows. Argh!
