    Copy Formula

    I have a spreadsheet that is divided into several different sections seperated by blank columns.

    I have several complicated formulas that I would like to copy from section to section, however, when I copy the formula I must then go back and redo it because it is adjusting for each blank column therefore making the formula incorrect.

    For example, if there are 3 blank columns seperating one section from another, and my formula should begin calulations at column AA, it copies over to begin at AE ( allowing for the three blank columns. )

    Is there a way around this --- otherwise I will have to type each formula individually.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do, but does this work?

    Select the range of formulas you want to copy, press Ctrl key and at the same time click on the edge of the range (so a little + sign appears) and drag to the new position.

    That Didn't Seem to Work

    Hope this explains my problem better.

    In column/cell Y275 I have the formula =SUM(E36:X36)+SUM(E45:X45)+SUM(E50:X50)

    I want to copy the same formula to column/cell BA275.

    Columns Z, AA and AB, AC are blank.

    I copy the formula from Y275 and paste it into BA275 and it adjusts as follows
    =SUM(AG36:AZ36)+SUM(AG45:AZ45)+SUM(AG50:AZ50)

    It should adjust to AD to AZ because Z, AA, AB and AC are blank.

    Is there a way to highlight the cell I want to copy and then highlight
    the area I want the formula to calculate?

    Thanks

    Y275=SUM(E36:X36)+SUM(E45:X45)+SUM(E50:X50) spans 20 columns

    BA275=SUM(AG36:AZ36)+SUM(AG45:AZ45)+SUM(AG50:AZ50) spans 20 columns

    BA275=SUM(AD36:AZ36)+SUM(AD45:AZ45)+SUM(AD50:AZ50) spans 24 columns

    What is it you are trying to get?
