    Hi,

If you put your names in column A, then in B1

=CODE(MID($A1,COLUMN()-1,1)) drag across to the right to column E and down to row 9

Then select A1:E9, go to Editing Tab > Sort and filter > Custom Sort, click off my Data has headers, then Add a level - Column B - Values - Smallest to Largest, then the same for column C, D and E > OK

You should now have your names in alphabetical order.

    Hi,

Thats fine what you have done so far. If you now want the names in a row, just select A1:A9, copy > selct cell H5, Paste Special > Transpose

    Hello again,

What I should have said first was to select H1:P1, copy > Paste Special, select A1, Transpose > OK (So column A is unsorted)

Then do the sorting of the columns, sorry if I confused you?

    Hi,

Select column G and insert an extra column to give some workplace

Select J1:R4, copy, select A12, paste special > Transpose

Enter formula in E12 and colour the cell so that you can tell the difference between the numbers

=CODE(MID($A12,COLUMN()-4,1)) drag right to H12 and down to H20

Select A12:H2, go the Editing > Sort and filter > Custom sort and by column E, F, G, H.

Your list of names and numbers should now be in order. Select A12:D20, copy, select J14, paste special > Transpose
