    Find next day (number) of week

    I am working on building a Cash Ordering system and will be running into all sorts of problems. My current issue is this:

    If today's date equals Wednesday, I have a formula that equates this value to 3. Then I have the current scheduled of Cash Deliveries as Tuesday (2) and Thursday (4).

    What I need to do is look to see what today's date equals and find the next day number then based on this result add a bunch of formula stuff that is way over my head.

    There will be a bunch of combinations of days but effectively I need to find today's date and match to one of 6 options (1-5 (Monday - Friday) and 0 is an option which equates to no delivery).

    Today can equal a current delivery day so an equal to or next combination is what I need.

    Hello Dylan&Hayden,

    A simple formula to get the next day is

    =Weekday(Today()) + 1

    Sincerely,

    Thanks Leith! I will no doubt use this on other parts of this worksheet.

    However my specific problem does not equate to weekdays....

    No deliveries = 0
    Monday = 1
    Tuesday = 2
    Wednesday = 3
    Thursday = 4
    Friday = 5

    I need to be able to match up the current date labeled as (ControlDate) from 1 thru 5 and then start over at 0. Does this make sense? I've been working for about 14 hours straight so I suspect that it's time to finish my glass of wine and call it a night.

    Actually I have two problems associated with this: I need to first find the equal to or next match on the front end of my formula. In order to tell it what to start summing and then I need the flip side to tell the formula when to stop summing (next match after the first match)...ugg. Again not sure if I have been working to long or if the wine is kicking in so if I'm not making sense please let me know and I will reply in the morning.

    Thanks for the assistance!
    Josh

    Hello Josh,

    Sorry about the late reply. Can you post your worksheet. I am not following what you want do. Seeing the sheet will help greatly.

    Thanks,
    Leith Ross
