Formula help for Football prediction League

Hi,

Hope someone can assist and this post is within the guidelines.

After help with a couple of formulas please for a prediction league im running at work for the Euro 2008 tournament.

The rules are:

3 points if the result and score are correctly predicted. And 1 point if the result is correct but the score incorrect. I.e:

Predicted Actual Points
A B C D E
1 1 v 1 1 v 1 3
2 2 v 0 2 v 1 1

I know there are similar posts but i cant find one that has exactly the same rules as this.

My main issue is if the result is correctly predicted as a draw, but the score is different, I.e 3 v 3 predicted, but the score is 1 v 1, how can i incorporate it into the formula that this is 1pt?

Hi, Thanks for your quick response, however i dont think i must have put the scoring system across very well.

If the actual score was Portugal 2 v 0 Turkey

If player a predicted Portugal 2 v 0 Turkey then he would get 3 pts
If player a predicted Portugal 1 v 0 Turkey then he would get 1 pt
If player a predicted Portugal 0 v 0 Turkey then he would get 0 pts.

I can do the formula for this. However

If the actual score is Romania 0 v 0 France

If player a predicted Romania 0 v 0 France then he would get 3 pts
If player a predicted Romania 1 v 1 France (or any other draw) then he would get 1 pts
If any other score was predicted he would get 0 points.
