    Text to Date change

    Hello,
I need to take a data file imported into Excel2000 from an old Foxpro program.
It is used to produce a pivot table were the date output is in order.
At the moment the field is sorting by string which is wrong.
There was a replacement on that field which included ^ or ~ but I cannot find my notebook.
If you would be so kind as to suggest a solution.

    Thanks in advance

    Phil

    Hi,
if I understand correctly your dates are in text format?
If so select the relevant range
Menu Data - Text to columns -Next - Next
In the column data format box check "Date" and select the needed format
    OK

    Cheers
