    Remove Space From Cell

While entering data space is given in the first and last of each cell content. For example
if there is a word Alex Patrix in a cell space is given before A or alex and after x of Patrix. This is done fo many cells. I want to remove only initial and last space which is un-necessary.
The space caused problem to compare cell so i've to remove space.

I've around 2500 cells to remove space like this.
    Looking for suggestion...

    Good morning rishi

Assuming your data starts in A1, something like this is, say B1, and copied down would work :
    =TRIM(A1)

    Hello

I think u can do this by using 'Delimit' Function

    Try Following

    1. First select column containing such Names
    2. Then go to 'Data' -> 'Text to Column' -> select ' Delimited' option
    3. Then click 'Next'
    4. Select 'Space' as delimiter'
    5. Finish this process
    6. You will see Name and Last Name in differnet columns
    7. Now reunion both by using formula =B1&" "&C1 (assuming b1 & c1 contains data) in cell d1
    8. Then copy column 'D'
    9. Now use paste special and paste only value in column 'D' itself.

    Hope this helps u.
    Bye

    This is a Cross Post
    Reafidy.

Tip: When using code and disabling events/screen updates/calculation be sure to use an error handler to turn them back on if an error occurs.

    I'm Sorry

    Hello, Reafidy

Thanks for letting me inform about ozgrid rules.

I was in trouble so i post in different forum. I've posted it in

    http://www.utteraccess.com/forums/sh...Number=1651683

    http://www.ozgrid.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92159

    and Excel forum.

Today is my first in ozgrid. You may have seen.

My real problem is Internet is very expensive in Nepal. We try to find solution as fast as we can to save money. Our montly income is US$45 and cost to surf internet is $0.62 per hour. so instead of reading rules i just click on the i accept and become member. If i've to post cross i'll mention from next time.

I say sorry for posting like this.

Next my problem is not solved but my money is finished i'll ask money with my father and come next day to check.

Lastly. What i think is rich person don't care what is happening to the poor just they want all to follow rule whether poor has to die while following rule.....

    thanks to all who helped....

    Hi Rishi,

Thanks for the explanation, I can some what sympathize with you there.

However it's very simple to add a link to the website you have cross posted at.

This will save other people with limited time availble on the internet (like yourself) from answering a question thats already been answered on another forum.

Thanks for agreeing to do so.

If you dont fully understand why some forums have a rule on cross posting read this link:

    Finally,

I would have thought the post by dominic above would have solved your question?
