Finding/Replacing Currency Values in Excel

I'm trying to replace a currency value - $4.00 which I entered into the field as a 4 and then formatted column to be currency with 2 decimal places and a $ sign - with another ($3.88) but even if I format the value in the find/replace field to match the value in the spreadsheet, Excel won't let me find and replace. I get a message that tells me the value can't be found. Is there a certain way to enter into the find/replace field to make it search for currency?

Not sure which version this was introduced, but you should be able to find and replace a number by value and format by clicking on the Options button (see attached screen print).

If you need to specify the format for soome reason, click Options in the Find and Replace dialog, then click Format, ...
