Pivot field formatting

Hope this is simple...

I have a pivot table that shows a date format of *3/14/2001. My original data uses 3/14/01. I can manually change the format but whenever I update the table, the format reverts back to *3/14/2001. Is there a way to 'lock' that format so it doesn't change with the update?

EDIT: Figured it out. Changed the OS default to a 2 digit year.
