Deleting a column/row does NOT update formulas to exclude those cells!

Am I wrong or didn't excel 2003 automatically update formulas if I deleted rows that were included in the formulas? Such as, Min functions, Conditional Formats?? I mean. This just seems weird that I get errors now when deleting.

I also noticed that the cut and pastes seem funky from workbook to workbook. Sometimes the cells appear blank unless I highlight them, then sometimes they reappear if I move to another part of the excel sheet and then back again. Annoying, but manageable. It seems to only occur when in the middle of cutting and pasting.

    Is this just me??

I'm sorry, I was posting my initial request too quickly. The crucial piece of info that I left out is that I am now using Office 2007 with the following error:

Once columns are deleted it looks like: =min(AF5, AJ5, AM5, #REF!, #REF!), then the conditional formating that changed colors if the cells matched the min cells, in this case green, if equal to the cell with the min formula do not update if cells are deleted.

2003 never had this error when deleteing columns. Very weird. 2007 looks nice, but I'm finding that I am becoming less and less happy with it. (Don't get me started on Conditional Format Management!)
