Select in Drop down box to a different drop down box

What I need to do is create a Drop Down box. When a user makes their selection it gives another drop down box from what they selected. Each choice in the 1st drop down will give a different drop down box in the next field from what they selected in the 1st. I am having troubles getting this to work. I hope this makes sense. Please help.. Thanks everyone for helping.

I have done this in the past by having a matrix of the options hidden on the page and utilised the
    OFFSET
function in the List option of Data Validation

if you want me to hunt out and post a sample let me know. It basically does a couple of vlookups to find what to offset from the dropdown box

It is close to what I am looking for, real close. They want to see drop downs in the 2nd selection area after they make their 1st selection area.

not sure what you mean, there is a dropdown in the cell beside second cell, populated with only the corresponding info from selection 1

Re: Select in Drop down box to a different drop down box

Hi, I'm trying to do the same thing, and I looked at the zip file from mus_mo2049 and I see where the second drop down selection is suposed to be, but in the version I have, it's not there...
I'm trying to make a business quote form, where we can select a product, then either have it fill out the description automatically, or supply us with another dropdown list, corresponding to our selection in the first. The goal would be to have that train continue through numerous boxes in the line- product, description, quanity, and daily rate. Then, not as a drop down box but as a normal function, have the quanity and daily rate mulitplied for a Total Price. This I already have, but being unfamiliar with the was drop boxes operate in excel, I'm not sure if it will continue to add these two together...
I know it is a lot to ask, and I mostly just want to know if what I am wanting is possible.
If anyone has done this, or something similar and could show me how to do it, that would be great...
