    Pivot Tables

I posted this yesterday with an incorrect title so I will try again...

I am trying to create an excel file/pivot table. I receive weekly data on my customers number of sales through a corporate program that I export into excel. What I would like to do is - after exporting into excel select my top 20 customers and their sales numbers for that week; the next week I get company data I will want to do the same thing and compare side by side that weeks data to the previous weeks data so that I can identify trending.

Is a pivot table the best method for this? I have never created one before can someone help me?

    Thanks so much

Yes, I think a pivot table is the best way to do this. However, I can't really guide you through creating a pivot table, but don't look at the Excel help files - you'll never figure them out from there. I understand pivot tables and still can't figure out how Microsoft have explained them. Just jump right in and try and create one and figure them out yourself - you'll very soon get the hang of them and how they work.

As for the top 10 (20, 30 whatever), from your table right click and select Field Settings, and click on Advanced, and go to the Top 10 Autoshow, set it to On and set how many you want to see and from which field.
