    Problems with excel 2007

Excel 2007 runs extremely slow, with "not responding" a frequent message. My p.c. exceeds the requirements and I even wiped the drive clean and reinstalled xp and excel 2007, no difference. Is it just me or is this a problem. Right now the program is useless. I tried to access the MS 2007 website but the message came up "we're sorry we are hard at work on the problem"!

samsebastian, you will find that running xl2007 is very memory intensive you would probably need 2 Gig of memory to run your system and xl2007, from my experience i had Windows Vista and Office 2007 on a brand new machine with 1 Gig memory and it laboured as 1 Gig was just about boredrline to run both!

Try running it in Safe Mode as minimal drivers are loaded then so not so much memory useage if it runs faster then you need more memory!

I am running XP Pro with 1gb ram, 128mb video, 2ghz P4 CPU and Office 2007. I really do not have any slow downs and I'm an app freak, I will have upwards of 10+ apps running at a time.
