    Forumula to calculate cost price ?

    Hi Guys

    I am manufacturing a small product. Retailers want to make 100% markup on it.

    What would a formal be that would calculate what my selling price should be ?

    Eg suggested retail $ 8.95, markup 100% = cost price.

    I know the answer should be $ 4.77, but I need to play with various retails prices etc

    Kind Regards

    price = cost * (1 + markup)

    cost = price / (1 + markup)

    markup = price / cost - 1

    G'day All

    Just logged in and saw this thread.

    As a retailer know the cost, sell and margin is important.

    For me to understand it the first time I did a spreadsheet.

    See attached

    Hope you like it
