Hi there,

Hoping someone can at least provide suggestions?

When editing a particular excel file and saving it will give a "send to microsoft" error with very little detail. It will also not delete the temp file created when opening the file so each time I try save it creates a new random file in the directory and eventually I have a long list of random files accounting for every attempt. The changes are also lost.

Now this only happens on one particular workstation but not on another. They both have exactly the same Excel installed. They both have the same XP installed (image). I have also tried uninstalling and re-installing excel on the problem PC. No luck. It also does not matter if the file is on network or local. The logged on user also has full permissions and ownership to the troublesome file. Nothing I do can explain why it is only problematic saving on the one PC but not on any other.

Any suggestions as to what else I can do for this sort of problem? As per corporate policy we are stuck with Excel 2000 for a while still.

To elaborate how it will crash, if say I change the color of a particular word I chose in the spreadsheet and save, then it will crash. Some other things cause it to crash after saving but some changes made don't cause it to crash. As I said though this is only on a particular PC but no other and said Excel document is almost 13meg with a lot of references and sheets...so recreating the document would be a nightmare.
