    Unhappy Excel Formula

    Heloo,
    I have 3 cells
    In A1 I have typed the number 4- How can I do a sum in the same cell..That is when I enter 5 in the same cell, it gives me 9 (that is 4+5).. Now If I enter 10 in the cell, it should give me 19

    Can anybody help..Please its urgent..

    I really want to do that in one cell only...

    hello Jessika,
    circular references are not admitted in formulas.
    VBA will be necessary for this kind of problem.
    But why do you need to do everything in the same celll?

    Here's the best I could do (see attached). You'll need to insert this code on the worksheet where you want the summing to occur. As written, you type in a new number in A2, it adds that to A1 and then erases what you added in A2. The code is
