    Excel behaving badly!

I've been working with Excel for two years now as a financial analyst and been using help sites to get me through all my previous issues. However, I think this time I have to write my own post.

    Here is the situation:

The spreadsheet has an "unrolled" interest calculation. When calculation is set to auto (with however many iterations) it does not come to a unique solution. However, when I change calculation to manual and iterations to 1 and quickly hit F9 multiple times in quick succession it finds a solution. I wait two seconds and repeat. After 4 times the solution settles and if I turn on automatic calculation with however many iterations it only needs one to tell me that the solution I achieved from the described method is correct. I have never seen Excel behave like this.

You may be asking yourself: "You have a solution. What is the problem?" I would like a automatic solution with Excel or VBA.

If you have any questions on my post I would be more that happy to answer them.

    Thanks - Bunches
