How to autocomplete columns/rows with multiple headers

    Hi all,

Guess this has been answered already somewhere, although a quick search didnt help.
    Anyways here is the issue
In a column where there are titles (text) in randomly spread cells (e.g. in a2, a8, a32, a500 etc.) I would like to autocomplete the in between empty cells with their respective titles i.e. cells a3-a7 should read the text of a2, cells a9-a31 should have the text of a8, etc.
You guess that a solution of dclicking each title or click'n dragging is no good since in my case there are thousands of them.
    So any ideas?
    Thnxs

Select column A and then hold the CTRL key and select A1.

Then go to Edit|Go To and click Special....select Blanks and click Ok.

enter an = sign and hit the up arrow key.

Hold the CTRL key again and hit ENTER.

You may have to fix whatever was in A1.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
