    Protect Some Cells

I want to protect only a range of cells in my worksheet. Can this be done?

    Hi EsKay,

You sure can. By default all cells have their Locked property set to True (but not in effect while the sheet is unprotected).

To just protect a specific range, select your entire sheet (click the square above the row header "1" and just left of the column header "A") then click Format -> Cells.. -> Protection tab -> Un-Check 'Locked' -> Click OK.

Select the cells you want to protect, then use Format -> Cells.. -> Protection tab -> re-Check 'Locked' -> Click OK.

Protect your worksheet (Tools -> Protection -> Protect Sheet) and users can now edit any cell except those that were set to Locked.
