Inserted objects in excel not opening

I am trying to insert an excel object as an object in an excel sheet.
When opening the object, it will open, but not be visible. In order to see the object, you need to right click on the icon on the task bar and maximize the window.

Examples are attached of:
1) opening worksheet object
2) maximizing worksheet object

Has anyone experienced the same issue? Any solutions out there?
Im running Excel 2003 version
