trouble extracting data from a particular website

I have had success with extracting data but with one particular web page I am having problems. Specifically, while it appears as though the data was extracted to my worksheet from columns AA-AJ and rows 1-168, I cannot navigate within my worksheet to view the data. Even worse is that I cannot scroll up to see the data I've extracted from other web pages (which appeared up to this point without incident in columns A-Z) -- I'm basically stuck at row 169 and can't undo any of this. Can anyone suggest how to remedy this (or at least how to undo this last extraction)? Do certain websites use programs to cause these kinds of problems and thereby prevent data extraction?

    Many thanks for any help.

I only really care about the first two columns of the table; not sure if this is necessary but I'm just compiling the info for personal use.

On that page there is a 4-column table (Expert Rankings), and when I copy/paste the table into Excel - or even when I get the data via web query - my worksheet is not affected.

What are the steps you're taking to get the data into AA1:AJ168, and why is it 10 columns by 168 rows, when the table on the site is 4C x 100R?

I wonder why I am having trouble. Under "New Web Query" I'd chosen "Only the tables" in response to part 2 (is there a way to specifically identify the table I wanted?). I just tried it again in a blank worksheet and the same thing happened.

What version of Excel are you using? In 2003 I'm not prompted with 'Only the tables'.

I click Data -> Import External Data -> New Web Query. A dialog window opens, and I type in the URL next to "Address:" and click Go. The webpage opens within the dialog window and I can click a small arrow next to the table I want to import.

I then click Import, select Existing Worksheet, then set the cell I want to start in. My data then shows up correctly.
