Formula to copy date from a different workbook

    Hi

Im wondering if anyone knows a formula i can add into my worksheet that will copy a date (that will always be in the same cell) from a different workbook that will be open say from cell C15 on one worksheet to G7 on a different worksheet

    Many Thanks

open both spreadsheets, in G7 type =

and then go to other spreadsheet, click on cell with date and press return

G7 will now show the date whether or not other spreadsheet is open

WARNING - if date changes while you are working in first spreadsheet, G7 will not refresh until you amend a cell or press F9

    Hi Robert

    Many Thanks for your reply

Sorry I didnt explain that well

I Have a workbook with 3 worksheets in it, the Sheet named "Costomer info" has the date in cell C15 I the press a button opens the sheet that requires the date putting in cell G7, I would like it to be automatically inserted when data is inserted to cell c10, so as soon as data is put into C10 the date is copied from C15 and put into G7

    Is that Possible?

    Many Thanks

    This requires VBA.

    It can be done...
however I am not an expert in VBA and while I could probably muddle it through in the end,
it would take me a long time, and still might not be exactly what you want.
