Hi there,

I'm trying to do a simple reference to a cell in another sheet in the same book, something I've done a million times before. Out of nowhere, it does not allow me to click on the cell I want to reference (the cursor doesn't change.) If I do it anyway, I get this message:

"Your formula contains an invalid external reference to a worksheet."

Funny thing is, it lets me do it manually. For instance, I can type "=(sheet name)!L27" and it will reference the cell. But if I type "=" then flip to sheet and try to click, I get the above error.

Do I have some kind of funky protection enabled? Any help would be much appreciated!!! I'm using 2002 from the Office Pro Suite.
