    excel format cells

    Hi,

I have a problem with formatting cells in Excel.

I enter the value 3-4 and keeps giving me 03-Apr.
I do: Format Cells and set it to Text because in General does'nt work.
I give again the value 3-4 and it works.
But, after I save it and come back to it the value is again 03-Apr.
Why that simple thing is so difficult?
Is anybody working in Microsoft or they just f****** around.

    Please help.

    Cheers,

    Georgios

    Excel format cells

Even if you format the cell as a number, it doesn't work.

My value is 5-8. it keeps giving me 05-Aug. I've tried almost everything in formatting cells.

Of course it is frustrating, because is so simple and microsoft didn't think of an easy solution.

It only works if I format the cells as a text, but again if I save it and reopen it gives me again 05-Aug
