    Excel 2000 changing date format

Hi guys! This is my first time posting here and any help with my situation would be wonderful. When doing financial reports for my company I must have the date be in a "Month Day#, Year" format. (ex: February 28, 2008). With my version of Excel it often changes the format of the date cell to a far simpler format (02 28 08). Is there anyway to make my Excel always use the first format I listed above as a default. I've read through the entire help section and changed the Short and Long date in the Regional Options under Control Panel. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time!

    Hi,

Just change the format of the date by specifying a Custom format from the Number tab in the Format Cells menu, and setting it to:

    mmmm dd yyyy

    HTH
