I have a workbook stored on a network drive that contains Pivot tables based on another shared workbook.
e.g
\\server\excelfiles\mydata.xls - contains my data
\\server\excelfiles\myanalysis.xls - contains my pivots
I have \\server mapped to the F: drive on my local machine, but other users of this sheet may have it mapped to another drive letter.
When I use \\server\excelfiles\mydata.xls!range as the source of my pivot table it looks like it works perfectly, until I go back to look at the source it actually saved ...
F:\excelfiles\mydata.xls!range
Is there any way whatsoever to get excel to stop trying to be clever ? I'm providing an absolute path, actually more specific than f:\ ...
Driving me nuts - any ideas ? Relative path would be fine - these files will always be in the same dir.
Thanks
tony
