External links not updated after moving entire set of files!

    Hi
When we recently changed our office, we copied the entire xls files and folders from drive M:\Master Folder to drive D:\
Now all the (external) links which I made in those files are still showing the file paths as M:\Master Folder\Sub folder…..etc. Although I copied all the files, they are saved to Drive D: directly without ‘Master File’. Therefore, the links are not working now.
Please suggest a way to update the links. As I have tons of spreadsheets with external links (only to other xls spreadsheets), I dont want to update the links by clicking the new path for all the links of each file!
Do I have any other way?

    Thanks for any help.

    Good morning sssomas

    ...and welcome to the forum!!

You're going to have to do a certain amount of this by hand, in that you're going to have to do it on a file-by-file basis. If a file links to say two other files, then go to Edit > Links and click on Change Source, set the new workbook in the location to link to.

Do this for each workbook shown in the box on the left. It's faster than the method you've suggested, but it will still be a bind to do every file you have.
