    Automatically filling data

New to this forum and just wondering if the following is possible:

using a Workbook with two worksheets I want to be able to type in a certain value in sheet 2 and have the information from the same row as that value in sheet 1 automatically fill the appropriate columns.

    example:
If on sheet 1 I have columns such as car make, model, colour, registration etc. On sheet 2 I have a simlar arrangement but if I just type in registration I want the other selected data to import automatically.

If someone could just tell me which section of help i need that would be great.

    Thanks.

    hi Karlval,

    Yes, it sure is possible.

"VLookup" is probably the easiest function to understand although you can also use a combination of "Index" & "Match". There are plenty of sites that explain how these can work, eg
    http://www.google.co.nz/search?sourc...+excel+vlookup
including this one which seems reasonably easy to follow through step by step:
