Copy vertical the same as horizantal.

So let me first sat this. Im using excel 07.

    So hello everyone

I have 6000+ cells I need to formulate. Now when I fill one cell and pull the cell to the left, it reads the proper corisponding cells. A simple example would be like a multiplicaiton table. Now when I pull down:

     =B1*A2
    it wil copy

    =B2*A3
I would like it to copy

    =B2*A2
This example was way simplified than my formulas but the same problem still happens. The thing that stumps me is when I pull the forlmula left. It will still read the cell to the right of the original cell. I hope that made sinnce and Im sorry I cant transfer my file to an oldr version, but Im guessing its something simple that I just don't know.

    Try dragging =B1*A$2

The way I think of it, the dollar sign means "always"

A$2: always row 2, no matter where it is drug.

    $A2: always Column A

    $A$2: always A, always 2
