    Hi penzer

    Yes, but is your source file a .wav file or a midi file? Excel will play either of those, but the same code (you have to use a macro utilising APIs - it's not a native Excel thing) will not do both. If it's an mp3 file, I'm not sure whether it can be done, so it would need converting.

    o ok,, im going to leave it i think sound complicated for my noob like brain. can excel be ran in any other program?? like a functioning spreadsheet working on another application, if so wot program?

    Not if you want to maintain full functionality. You can save any workbook as a HTML file, so it will open under Explorer (or any other browser), but all your functionality within formulae and such will be lost.

    o ok thanks,, apprantly it is possible to design visual basic code in order to have background music play and as the document opens

    It is possible, as I said earlier, but before I can give you the code to do that, I need to know what format your music is in. Is it a .wav file, midi file...?

    o sorry, i was being clueless.. mm the music will be just an mp3 file. (sorry no idea about terms - just a standard music file) hope that is the correct answer??
