If your list of incomes is in the cells A1:A1000, then try:
=A1-AVERAGE($A$1:$A$1000)
Is there a way to get each cell minus the mean in a list form.
Yes. If your values are in A1:A1000, then put my formula in B1. Then fill that down to B1000 and it will give you the answers you're looking for.
