NumLock turned off at Excel Startup

When I start Excel 2007, the numlock key is automatically turned off. I am looking for the setting or control that will prevent Excel from altering the numlock state.

Never used xl2007, does it have a customize status bar, or something like that, I didn't think excel could change keyboard status, unless you have a workbook macro that changes the numlock status when you open it, just doesn't make a lot of sense,
maybe check out num lock in xl's help file

There is a options menu, but nothing related to numlock with the menus.

Tried a search in Excel Help, nothing there.

I do not have a macro that sets it.

It makes no sense to me either, and just started doing it seemingly on its own.

Are there any registry settings that would control numlock state at excel startup?
