    Sorting problem

I'm trying to sort Column A(Column A ranks each row's data based on updated input to Row 3) but it doesn't sort the numbers when I make more than 19 inputs. Up to 19 inputs in Row 3 it will sort fine but when I add anymore further out it won't sort Column A correctly, which should be in ascending order starting with a rank of 1 and going through to 90.

Attached is the sheet with the 20th input added to Row 3. You can see Column A did not sort the numbers correctly. Is there any way around this?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello,

    1. Take out the merge cells in column BT row 3, select A3:BT93, click Data->Sort (In my Data Range has) click option Header Row, then in the first drop down box select Rk, then Ascending then click Ok.

    check the file here:

I'm still getting a sort out of number order. When I bring up Sort I click header row under where it says "My list has" instead of "In my Data Range has." That's the only thing I didn't see from your instructions. I'm using Excel 2002.

Did your way of sorting work for you? Could this have something to do with the machine I'm using or version of excel?

It work for me if I select row4 downwards and No Header Row in the Sort dialog.

..Wrap code by selecting the code and clicking the # or read this. Thank you.

I got it to work. There was a formula that had the wrong row copied all the way down and when I fixed it, it sorted correctly.

    Thank you for the replys.
