Sort defaults not saved

Program behaviour question:

For some reason the data menu "sort" function is not sticking with the last "sort by", "then by" criterea I selected from the previous time I used the function. I am 100% certain it used to keep the columns and settings I last used which is slightly annoying.

Can anyone help?

Hello Badger123,

The Data sort will remember your last settings as long as the same range is selected. Once you select another another cell or range, the sort data is reset to the system defaults.

That's odd because I used to edit the spreadsheet by selecting cells and editing them and then doing the sort function and I'm sure the same sort criterea kept coming up because I used to think "that's convenient".

Is there any circumstances where the system defaults would depend on some other variable setting??
