filtering duplicate entries

i am looking for your help!.
i have a spreadsheet containing part numbers in column A and there descriptions in column B. the list is quiet long and there are duplicate entries.

can someone tell me how to filter out these duplicate entries as i have little experience using this function

Duplicates in column A or column B or both? In any case I suggest having a look at Data > Filter > Advanced Filter for starters. Ticking the unique records only option may do exactly what you want.
