    Formula to calculate percentage sales

    Hi just a quick one, i want to work out a percentage in excel using a pie chart. I have put all my totals in, and excel has worked it out for me. Only thing is its not the answer i want.

    Whats happening is: say i take 10,000 in sales on the internet and then 5,000sales on the telephone the answer is gives me is 33% telephone and 67% internet its adding the 2 sales together and then showing the total as above

    What i want is the percentage of the telephone sales against the internet, so the anwser i would be looking for on the totals above would be internet sales 10,000 telephone sales 5,000 and the answer is 50% telephone

    can anyone tell me what formula i need ?

    Hello Stokie21

    Here is how to calculate the percentage...
    A1 = 10000
    A2 = 5000
    A3 = A2/A3

    This will return A3 will contain .5 You can set the Number format of A3 to Percentage so it will display as 50%.

    Sincerely,

    Thanks Leith, that works fine. Does anyone know how i can put this into a pie chart? . The formula that i was using before which was wrong was =Sheet1!$G$60:$I$61

    10,000 sales in H61 and 5,000 sales in I61 which give the result of 33% telephone and 67% internet, i tried to put a / insted of the : in the above formula but it dont work

    Thanks Again

    Hello Stokie21,

    The values for the Pie Chart must be in the same column. For example...
