eliminating leading space

Trying to manipulate basketball statistics copied from websites ... each cell has a leading space before the number(s) ... is there any way to globally eliminate the leading space from the cells

Tried find/replace, finding [space] replacing with 0 (which would then be disregarded ... didn't work

Tried converting all cells to number format, didn't work

Any suggestions would be welcome and thanks in advance.

Copy a blank cell. Select all the cells with the leading spaces, and do Edit > Paste Special > Add.

shg: just tried that and didn't seem to work ... maybe doing something wrong (although your directions were pretty simple)

1) copy a blank cell
2) then select all the cells with leading space
3) choose paste special with "add" selected

am I missing something ... when I do this nothing seems to happen

Make sure the cells are not formatted as text. If it still doesn't work, post an example.

attached is tab-delimited .txt version of spreadsheet ... I must be missing some simple thing because it doesn't seem to work ...

if you figure out what the problem is, wonderful, because I have this situation with about 20 other spreadsheets I work with and have resorted to basically rekeying the info (which is annoying and very very time-consuming)
