Excel data type auto guess problem

    hi

I am facing a problm in excel on entering value 10-20 which becomes 20-Oct-2007. I assume that excel do some auto guess and change the value to date type.

Is there any option to turn off this feature without touching the registry values.

Thanks in advance for your help...

I don't know but one thing you could do is to add a ' in front (it doesn't appear): '10-20

or format all the cells in that column(s) or row(s) to TEXT before entering your data.
