    database :Sort

    Hi all,
I have a database of just over 32000 words from the English dictionary. These are all in the A columns Cells 1 to 32441 and they are in alphabetical order. Is there a way of sorting the columns according to length of data e.g., 1 letter words (like "a") at the top and the longest words at the bottom of the list ?
    Thanks in advance.

You could add the formula =LEN(A1) in B1 and drag down. This gives the number of characters so then sort by column B.

Thanks Stephen for such a rapid reply. Been trying this for an 2 hours , even started doing it manually. You did it in 10 seconds...
    Thanks again.
