    Question about DATEDIF Function

    Hello!

    I have a spreadsheet that utilizes the DATEDIF function, and references to a cell at the top of the sheet that automatically updates to todays date. When I reference a function to that cell, and try to copy the equation to other cells, it automatically inputs the cell directly below the date cell, and that process continues throughout the speadsheet. EX:

    B1= 11/13/07

    Cell 1: DATEDIF(B1,C1,"mm")

    Cell 2: DATEDIF(B2,C2,"mm")

    Etc...

    I want the equation to update for the second cell in the function, but I want it to always reference B1 for the first cell in the equation. I manually entered B1 in the equations, but I had a ton of #REF! errors when I attempted to sort the data because it automatically changed the first cell. Is there any way to bypass this? Thanks in advance, this is by far the best Excel help forum on the net!

    Try DATEDIF($B$1,C1,"mm")

    Question about DATEDIF Function

    Try this:
    Cell 1: DATEDIF($B$1,C1,"mm")

    Then see Range References in Excel Help.

    Does that help?
