    Lookup

I have a spreadsheet with multiple columns and rows. One of the columns need to pull data from another spreadsheet.

For example, one spreadsheet created as of today has a column with stock symbols in the left most column and its share price in the right most column and is sorted alphabetically. It needs to refer to another spreadsheet and get stock prices a week ago, but the latter is sorted say randomly.

Is this possible and if so, how do I do this?

    Thanks,

Use Vlookup and make sure to use the False qualifier as the 4th argument as per Vlookup help in Excel.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
