Opening Lotus 123 Docs in Excel 2003 SP3

I have read and followed any applicable solutions in the following articles:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938810 (Information about certain file formats that are blocked after you install Office 2003 Service Pack 3)

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922849 (You receive an error message when you try to open or to save a file type that was blocked by your registry policy settings in Word 2007 or in Word 2003)

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934181/ (Description of the security update for Word 2003: May 8, 2007)

However, I am still unable to access Lotus 123 documents from Excel 2k3 SP3. Note that when I attempted to create HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Security\FileOpenBlock, I had to manually populate everything under "Microsoft". This seems odd to me. Apparently this key can be redirected from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common, but there was nothing applicable under this key. I created the entries there too for good measure, but I am still blocked.

Any idea on how I can regain access to my Lotus documents? Thanks.

    Welcome to the board,
if I'm correct your two last links pertain to word, not to XL

On the other hand did youy try XL's Help on Lotus ?
It doesn't look like XL blocks these files.
    ( But the again I'm using XL2003 SP2)

    Good luck in your search

Yes, sorry should have been more broad. The problem having is with Lotus documents period, affecting Word and Excel. If I can solve the Excel one (more critical) I can solve them both.

Office 2003 SP3 blocks Lotus docs.

I could previously open/convert Lotus docs when I had Office 2k3 SP2 and below. It is only with this recent "upgrade" and "new security features" which entirely block Lotus documents.
