HLOOKUP formula

I have a Horizonal table of monthly salaries. In cell A2 there is a drop-down menu with a list of all the months. I want a formula that will be able to look-up the month from the table and gives me the salaries that correspond to that month. My formula is =HLOOKUP($A$2,$C$2:$N$4,3). I get bogus amount or #N/A. Please assist.
