    Unable to assign 6 colors

I have 2 columns, name and things. The column name has names of people and the column things 6 activities like A,B,C,D,E,F and has been set data validation function. I just assigned 3 colors for A,B,C by using Conditional Formatting, but it allows only 3 conditions.

My question is that there is any method I can assign 3 more colors for D,E,F? Please help.

Please find attached file for your reference.

    Hi there,

If you not using Excel 2007 (which I believe has more than 3 conditional formatting options though I haven't used it myself yet), you'll need to use code to achieve your goal.

Have a look at the attached where I've tweaked some code I had (I didn't write it and I don't know who did ) on the Worksheet_Change property of Sheet1. Using this method you can use all of the 56 colours from Excel's colour palette (see here for more info) if you wish.
