Convert to Simplify Chinese

I had a excel file from my vendor.
One of the column (for item description) is keyed in under traditional chinese.
I need to convert it to Simplify chinese to another column.
How do I do it?
I had a long list of description to convert.

Tools | Options...| General tab | Web options button...| Encoding and choose Chinese simplified from the list

I'm not sure but you may have to copy the particular column into a new temporary workbook first, change the encoding as outlined above and save it, then recopy this newly saved column of data over the original Chinese traditional data.

NBNB: You had better save a backup of your original file in case this technique doesn't work!!
