    external data? It worked yesterday!

Using the newest excel (2007?). It is in compatibility mode (.xls)

My entire "Get External Data" field is grayed out and unusable. This field is under the "Data" tab.

How do I get this to work. Any help would be wonderfully appreciated.

BTW: It wasn't grayed out yesterday!!

I figured it out. I could only import 1 set of external data for the worksheet. Once I cleared the old external data, the "get external data" icons were no longer grayed out.

This doesn't tell us exactly what is locking the rows/cells. I am experiencing a similar problem and know that I could get your solution to work. But that won't suit my situation. Does anyone else have additional information to impart to this issue?
