links / EOMONTH function

Currently I use a function to put last month's date in. In cell A1, I have:

=+TODAY()

then in cell A2 I have:

=EOMONTH(A1,-1)

What this result gives me is Last month. I use this for my schedules in reference to my financial statements. It automatically puts last month's date in.

However I am working partially on my desktop and partially on a work server. However whenever I go to open the file on the server it asks me to update links, when I click yes, it gives me an error

it tries to open a link to D:/program files/microsoft office/office 11/library/Analysis then the file name is ATPVBAEN.XLA

This never use to happen but just started happening. Anyone have a clue or ideas? It screws up the EO month function.

I believe that the message you get relates to Analysis ToolPak, I don't know how to solve that specifically, sorry.....but if all you want is the last day of last month you don't need EOMONTH.....just use

=A1-DAY(A1)

format as required, i.e. as a date of some sort

load Analysis tool pack it will solve your problem

for loading select Tools and then select Add-Ins after that put tick marks(check Box) for all the options in opened new window and press OK

I had previously loaded the analysis pack but I don't know why it wasn't working. I just loaded all available add-ins and it seems to be working now.

Ok the problem has resurfaced. The analysis toolpack is loaded but it isn't working anymore. When I open the file, it asks me if I want to update links and if I say yes

it changes the file

from EOMonth

to D:/blah/BIG_LONG_PATH/ then EOMonth at the end of it,


anyone know what would be causing this?
