    Entering Current Time

    Is there a way to enter the current time without having to enter it manually. For example, I want to enter the finishing time for participants of a bicycle race by entering their race number only.
    So, if I put their number in columb A, I want get the current time in columb B. I cannot use the NOW() function because it refreshes itself on every update. And I don't want to use the CTRL + SHIFT+; function it's to complicated when you have riders coming in every couple of seconds.
    Is this achievable in excel or is this asking for too much. Please reply. Thanks.

    Yes you can by using a macro that is triggered by a cell's contents changing. Follow the directions below.

    Installing the Worksheet_Change() Event Macro
    1. Copy the Macro code above using CTRL+C
    2. Open Excel and Right Click the Sheet Tab the macro will run on
    3. Click on View Code in the pop up menu
    4. PressCTRL+V to Paste the macro code
    5. Press CTRL+S to Save the macro code in the workbook
    6. Close the VBE and return to excel using ALT+Q
