Printing 2 pages on one page

I have a doc which is 2 pages wide to fit in all the information. It is only half a page long so I would like to print both pages on the same sheet of paper, the second under the first. Is there any way to do this without changing the layout of the chart, just by a print setting?

From the File menu choose Page Setup, then on the Page tab (the first tab) there is an option to fit to however many pages wide and tall, you can set it to fit on one page (Fit to 1 page wide by 1 page tall) and select landscape on the same tab

It will then print both pages on one sheet

You might need to fiddle with your margins to get it legible (this can be done either from the page setup otptions or by dragging them in print preview)

Thansk but i have tried that and it makes the font so tiny it's illegiable, it really needs to have one under the other to fit in.

    Any other suggestions?

My printer has an option to print more than one page on one sheet. I wonder if yours might as well? I never used that option on mine, so I can't really tell you if it will do what you need.

Otherwise, I don't think it's readily feasible. You would have to change the shape of what you are printing. I think your only option would be to move the stuff to the right (that currently ends up on the second sheet) below the stuff to the left... precisely what you don't want to do.

You might be able to hack it by defining a mirror under the part of your spreadsheet that prints on the first page. What I mean by that is to link a bunch of cells to the cells to the right (that end up on the second page when printing). Define your print area to include the mirror but not the original second page, and print. The mirror would, however, be visible when you open your workbook.

The problem is, if the size of your data varies, you'll have to redefine your mirror and maybe your print area.

    Defining the mirror:
Say your data is in columns A:AZ, with A:Z printing on the first page and AA:AZ printing on the second page. Let's say you only have 1 row of heading and 14 rows of data.
To make reading easier, you should probably start your mirror on at least row 16 so that you have a blank line between the two halves of data. When you insert new rows of data, you'll have to move your mirror down. Alternatively, you can start your mirror on a much later row and hide the empty ones in between. You would then have to unhide rows to add rows of data.

So, you would enter =AA1 as the formula in A16, =AB1 as the formula in B16, and so on. You data to the right is now duplicated below your data to the left without removing it from its original location or having to paste again each time you update.

It's far from ideal, but it will allow you to print like you want without actually copying the data each time you change it. My biggest issue would be that the mirror is visible and that could be confusing, but you can always hide it and just remember to unhide it each time you want to print.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks Brigget,

I have tried but not had much luck with the printer. I guess we'll move it to print then put it back when the document is saved.

    Thanks so much.

VBA command for the same thing

    Greetings,

I'm trying to do the same thing through a VB script that someone else developed. Is there a way to set "page setup" / "fit to" to 1 page wide and 3 pages long in this script?

    Thanks
